Venting - Bl**dy South Africans at Work

Evil Consultant

What is it with South Africans at work?

They have the wierdest attitudes, seem to be entirely incapable of introspection or indeed entertaining the merest suspicion that they might be wrong. Heaven forbid that you might point out that their argument is entirely reasonable except for the minor issue of holes in their assumptions so big you could drive a coach and horses through them. Rudeness, passive aggression, arrogance. They've got 'em all in spades.

What makes it wierder is that they're reasonably normal outside work. I have South African friends who are to all intents and purposes entirely normal; although they do tend to be big on rugby, drinking and barbecues (braai) which are entirely forgiveable as sins go.

What the hell, Spitting Image had it right http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v439zTOJVho

YoungMaverick to Evil Consultant (#1)

Ive only worked with only one and I thought he was brilliant. Organised, leadership skills, polite yet outspoken.

!

Maybe you should blow a vuvuzela horn in their ear ... at v close range!?

Should've clarified that I'm operating on the basis of a small sample here (2 consultants) so it's not a foregone conclusion, but there's definitely a trend forming.
