Camster to Mr Cool (#7)

Mars,

Tell me about it! Definitely could use a break. On leave now till late January. I know what you mean. Don't really feel so 'Christmassy'.

It's been a bit of an 'odd' year, this 2012. Not the best of years, but did 240-odd days on the road (normal/good years = 300+). So not too bad I guess.

It's just the missus and myself. No plans, no shopping done, nothing. Will probably pack up and drive to the continent, see where there's good snow and go there.

Happy Holidays all. And best wishes for 2013.

Camster that sounds like a great idea - pack up and get away from your BAU life for the holidays. Mind you - I like Cool's approach too.

So...spirit of Xmas and all that, what's everyone's year been like? Any memorable highs or lows?

Tony?

BEP?

Cool?

Camster?

Anybody? ...

This is my last day until the New Year, so in case I dont get a chance later, Merry Christmas to everyone, be good, behave, under no circumstances allow them to take photos, choose wool mix fabrics which wash well, dont sleep with wet hair, avoid people who say 'fundamentally' a lot, remember it takes balls to make artificial xmas trees, and under no circumstances admit anything when questioned.

Santa is probably a Management Consultant, given his frankly world class JIT supply chain.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.

Management_Ignored to detoilet Consultant (#11)

Highs:

Being promoted with a really decent pay bump!

Being offered a potential role in Qatar/Dubia for two years from mid next year, ex-pat status, uk salary no tax (that's my house deposit right there). Nothing holding me back in the UK, single, no mortgage/kids/dependants etc, still pretty young, so quite excited about that.

Being based on a London project throughout the whole year that was 9-5, and on the occasional day, til 6.

Lows:

Civil Servants.

Mr Cool to Management_Ignored (#12)

Highs:

My fifth year in a row of billing 200+ days

Seven weeks holiday

Headhunted to go back to a previous client on a nice long term gig

Completed a major upgrade to our house

Lows:

For second year running I lost out on the "top spot" on a programme because the client felt they needed a permie with his career on the line to be ultimately responsible.
