Tech Consulting Grad Schemes, which one?!

#1 Tech Consulting Grad Schemes, which one?!

Hello! This forum has been so fantastic and insightful to read through over the past few days. Now it's my turn..

I'm in my 4th year of CompSci masters degree (bristol uni, at least a 2:1) looking to go into consulting. I plan on applying to many consultancies to ensure a job next summer but would love to hear some opinions on the firms I've found so far and if you think they're good choices for a technology consultancy grad scheme:

accenture

deloitte

capgemini

EY

mckinsey

chpconsulting

paconsulting

hp

ibm

microsoft

baedetica

britishairways

What would be the difference in working for

- a tech company like IBM in the consultancy area,

- a consultancy company like Deloitte in the tech area, or

- a tech-only consultancy firm like CHP or PA?

(I'm also keen on international travel opportunities in the future.)

Thanks so much for any opinions, stories, feedback - greatly appreciated!

British Airways? Why are they on the list? It reads like "spot the odd one out".

Good choices, although as Bushy points our BA is a bit of an odd inclusion.

An internship with any of these will be useful, but as internships in consulting are less commonplace than banking and hold far less weight, dont fret too much ovber your choices. Frankly I'd rather see someone do an internship in something outside consulting before going into it. Even working on the checkout at your local supermarket. The reason being you will learn little/zero in an internship in consulting - you are simply too green to be useful. Better to have some real world experience so you can at least identify with the commercial world you'll be trying to help.

Beep. Beep. Beep.
