Hey Guys,
I was recently approached by IBM to join one of their more lucrative (money-spinning) SAP service lines; and following the phone, assessment w/ technical and HR interviews - They called me 2 days later informing me they were in the process of making me an offer, which i received in writing about a week later...
Although they seem pretty keen to hire me they've come back £7k short off the salary I'd initially asked for so I wanted to know if anybody out there had any advice / experience as to how best to approach the negotiation part!
Thanks in advance,
Mav

What band are you being offered? This can make a difference to your room for negotiation

Thank for coming back to me.
Its the top end of a B7 apparently, which I don't have too many complaints about given my 5 years experience...

With no reference to what you have originally asked for, I cant say much about what your asking for is Market rate. Did you check Glassdoor.com for salary range?

Hi,
Do you have any idea about SAP SD jobs at IBM,UK. Can you provide any contact reference from recruitment or HR team?
Thanks

Top end of a Band 7 is 55k -60k I would guess.
I would think low 50's for 5 years experience in a band 7 is a reasonable offer.

Thanks for the info rdjmoose and to everybody else that contributed - Sounds like I got the top end of a 7 after all :)
