BTO Consulting opportunities

Dear All,

I've >8 years experience in IT industry and I'm on the verge of starting MBA from a very good school.

My post-MBA goal is to combine my experience with my MBA education and get into BTO consulting.

I'm hoping it's possible but I'm going to be 30 this year and have been repeatedly told by people that's it's possible though difficult to break into consulting at this age. Perhaps MBA can offset this.

In long term, I want to position myself for a CIO/CTO position (ambitious but possible I think :) )

I would like to know experience(s) of someone in the BTO domain.

Have you made a similar switch, pursued a similar strategy ? How is/was your experience in this area ? What would you do , if you were in my shoes ?

Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Cheers

Rho
