I hope all of you are doing good.

I am going to start MBA (Distance Learning) from Warwick Business School. Will it help me to get a job in consulting industry? Or shall I end up in oil industry for rest of my life?

About myself:

I have an excellent academic record from leading university of Pakistan but I was unfortunate not to get into world’s highly regarded universities (because I could not afford them).

I have about 4+ years of experience with FTSE 200 oil field service company as Field Specialist.

This whole idea of landing a job in consulting is confusing. It seems that there is no hard and fast criteria to get a job in big 4.

Any business school worth its salt will have a register of its graduating classes from the last years and be able to tell you how many of its students secured roles in consulting upon graduation, with which firms and on what average salary. You should seek to get this information from the careers service at Warwick, specifically for the distance learning graduates. Why settle for opinions and hypotheses here when the hard data should tell you all you need to know?? Good luck
