I am new to this forum; so pardon me if this had already been discussed. I was approached by Renoir Consulting for potential opportunities. Does anybody know anything about this firm - such as their work culture, salaries, bonuses, etc.Your feedback is much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

aha

Hi Vik,

I had contact with Renoir a few yrs back. My impressions: small operation - seemed to be run from home, package was very poor. But they did seem to have interesting work in interesting parts of the world.

Toohats

Run by two ex-Knox Darcy, Krishna Papaumah and Mark Goodenough. Little work in UK. Have been around now for some years, but always have struggled to get UK work (and always will). They do know the Indian market better than anyone, operated there before everyone else, because they worked out a way of exporting the money back to Blighty (legally!). Have grown beyond critical £5M t/o then shrunk back again in last few years: inconsistency is mainly down to offering the same as every other implementation consultants (proudfoot, celerent, coriolis, knox darcy, impac, lexion, doctus, system 21, managementors, anpro...they're 2 a penny despite what they might say). Methodology is same, same talent pool, same pay scales (least they can get away with), same rediculous man week fees, same philosophy drives them all - the owners make as much money as they can in the shortest possible time: this has led to the both the making of, and burning of consultants in roughly equal measure over time. In which category would you be? I think I was in the former category (but 'tis only my opinion), at a time they struggled to pay our expenses / wages. Don't know if they got better since.

Hi there - aha and Toohats,

Thank you to both of you for sharing your experiences. Aha, So did they make you an offer? As for your comment Toohats, they certainly seem to be gloally spread out in terms of their work. Also when you both said poor package - do you have any assessment of what it could be or a ball park figure?

I am a Chemical Engineer with an MBA from the Univ of Toronto. Have worked in industry for 6 years and only have consulting experience as an independent consultant. I am a Canadian and am waiting for my HSMP approval. And when I sent feelers in the UK, Renoir was one of the few firms that showed some interest. If I have good prospects with Renoir, then I can have something lined up by the time I land in the UK. But the other side of the story is - if the firm and the pay sucks, my stay with Renoir would not be long enough eventually hurting my CV. I am really at the crossroads so not sure how should I approach this.

Also anyone of you has heard of The Bubble Group?

Your valuable feedback is appreciated.

Vik

aha

Hi Vik,

I had a f2f chat with Renoir (discussed salary too). I would suggest you make further enquiries with Renoir regarding the type of work, location, and salary etc. before you reject them. Overall, ensure your expectations of Renoir match the reality. Good luck.

That 2 F***ING BA***RDS!!!So they are still around!!! They have offered me a job as Project Director and after accepted went to Xmas holidays. Appointment was beginning new year in a Madrid hotel. I arrived and no reservation for me either for the team. Nobody was there and no messages. Went home as they were both unreachable. After 2 weeks (!!!) got the indian guy on the phone and he said project was cancelled. No sorry, No expenses paid. Stay away from them.
