Deloitte's Fitness Trackers

In the newsmagazine The Week of 21/01/17 it mentions an article in The Sunday Times which says "Deloitte...ask staff to wear sociometric badges. These use motion sensors to determine whether the employee is sufficiently active, and are fitted with microphones to record the tone of the conversation. Trackers measure their fitness, productivity, and their ability to get on with colleagues".

No Deloitter I've spoken to knows anything about this. Anyone out there in the Deloitte world come across it?

Dear lord, I think that would be enough to make me walk out. Trackers that listen to me when I speak and know when I dare stand up?!

So many questions...!

1. At what point do you need to put it on- getting in the taxi? Waking up? 24hrs/day Mon-Fri?

2. Does it need to be on when WFH?

3. Surely you'd have to give a disclaimer to clients informing them the 'tone' of discussions are being monitored? Great first impressions....

4. If you leave it on your chair and speak to it gently a few times a day do you get amazing performance reviews? Or put it on your dog and let it run around the garden?

This can't be real- next up alcohol blood level monitor embedded in your arm and a sensor for counting the number of bowel movements made on firm time shoved up your...
